What good customer service means to us
Blogpost by Joonas Laitinen, Technical Account Manager, Nextron Finland.
We have not talked that much in the past about us; Nextron. What makes us the right choice for you? What are we good at? How do we do things? I know, this is your typical stuff you hear all the time. But I will answer to those questions above by small stories.
Well, this best example of our customer service happened at the tail end of the 2020. We here in Finland had a customer who had to have their GPU servers at the 30th December at the latest. Machines were built on time by the 29th, and got shipped by express, so there should be no problem, as the promised delivery time was till end of workday 30th. Then, disaster struck, somehow, GPU servers where not on their way on 29th from delivery company’s terminal. They where still on Oslo. In normal times, this would not be the problem. As we were/are living in age of pandemic, that brought huge issues. There were no flights between Oslo and Helsinki on 30th. Normally, I would personally hop on plane and get those 3 servers personally to our customer. Well, what to do? After exhausting one option after another, we came up with solution: private cargo plane. It was definitely not cheap, or anything, but we did what we had to do. I was on the Helsinki-Vantaa airport VIP-terminal to get some servers late afternoon. Our customers contact person was there with me, and we managed to get the servers on time. Everybody was happy in the end. We as company go that far to make good of our promises. If there really is physically an option to do something, we do it.
Another story is actually really recent. We got request for 1 small license for NVIDIA GPU. Although, I could have only made that sale, I was bit curious, as to why they need it. It turned out, that they had purchased GPU server from somewhere else. They needed the license for computing purposes, since the GPU in question, was older model. If there had been new model card, there would not have been need for that license. Also, they could have done all of their thing bare metal. Now, there was need for that license, and more importantly, there was need for whole lot of work in virtualization side. All of those things could have been averted, if hardware would have been chosen correctly. That’s why we are here, to help you to pick the best possible solution for you.
