Environmental Responsibility
Nextron has implemented various measures within energy efficiency, recycling and emissions from transport. As our hardware suppliers ensure a sustainable and environment-friendly production, Nextron can offer IT platforms with an environment-friendly footprint.
Sustainable production
All new machines from Supermicro comply with RoHS requirements for production without the use of environmental toxins. Supermicro works focused on contributing to more environmentally friendly servers and storage systems. You can read more about some of the specific measures implemented in recent years below.
Supermicro Green Computing
- Disaggregated server architecture reduces E-waste by allowing subsystem upgrades as newer technology releases. Minimizing entire server upgrades can reduce E-waste by up to 90 percent.
- Sharing resources reduces power consumption by sharing fans and power supplies. Resulting in a more optimized operation which can reduce electricity use by an estimated 10%
- Supermicro servers are designed for maximum airflow, which improves the CPU's ability to operate under higher temperatures.
- A wide range of Supermicro servers are ready to be used with liquid cooling, which reduces fan speed, and the need for HVAC, thus reducing PUE. The server's power draw reduction has been shown to be about 10% per server.
- Improved and effective power supplies, with up to 95% efficiency provides for minimal energy loss.
